Why does your email reproduce mysteriously until one day you find you don’t even know how many addresses you have?

I created my first email account with Yahoo. Seemed to work fine except friends weren’t paying attention and kept misspelling it. Result: I didn’t get the messages and they were mad at me thinking I’d blocked them.
.
So, I created another email account with Yahoo that was simpler and easier to remember. I linked the two accounts and now I get double the emails per some mysterious switch within Yahoo that sends it to both accounts. 2 accounts. Annoying but not terrible.

A tech-y guy at work convinced me to give up my iPhone for a Samsung. This was an unbelievably traumatic experience. I cursed at the thing daily, cursed him, cursed myself and then discovered that I had gained a Gmail account. Who knew? 3 email addresses.
.
I had a work email account before my coaching business. It still exists. I suspect it probably only gets spam and incriminating personal messages but I don’t have access to it anymore. That feels a weird to me. 4 accounts.

I set up a Gmail coaching account when I started my business. I forgot about that Samsung Gmail. Now I have 5 accounts. I can’t close them. I get emails in all of them.
.
For security reasons and the rapidly approaching death of my old Samsung phone, I moved back to an iPhone. Next thing I know I have an iCloud account. I wonder if I have 2? That puts me at 6 accounts, maybe 7 accounts.
.
Oh, and did I mention that I also have an .edu account from the classes I took at IU? What is that, 8 accounts? Maybe more.
.
Most likely these accounts will haunt me until I no longer exist and beyond. Like the snail mail I get for my parents who’ve been gone 10+ years. I need an intervention, a consolidation, a renovation of my email. But I just know when I start consolidating I’ll end up with more accounts.
